PERSONAL TRAINING : PAIN MANAGEMENT
Pain conditions have become more and more prevalent in our society. To relieve pain permanently, you need to fix the root of the imbalance that initially caused it. Otherwise you may get temporary relief, but it will keep recurring…
At the most fundamental level, the vast majority of pain cases are initially created by:
Structural / Muscular Imbalance
This includes putting the body in one position for long periods of time, such as sitting in an office all day, and repetitive movements that occur on a frequent basis, such as swinging a golf club or working a check-out counter.
Weak Stabilizer Muscles
Most people sit all day at work. The people that exercise outside of work perform most of their exercises on seats, benches, and machines. If something else is stabilizing you, you aren’t stabilizing yourself, and your stabilizer muscles become weak and imbalanced.
Faulty Movement
Sedentary lifestyles cause imbalances in the body’s structure, and this naturally leads to imbalances during movement. If you’re initiating movement from an imbalanced position, the movement itself will also be faulty. This altered movement further reinforces structural imbalance.
To fix these fundamental problems, it is critical to undertake an exercise program that brings you toward a position of structural balance, and integrates the stabilizer and movement muscles of your body. When the structure is balanced and strengthened, and movement is corrected, pain conditions are alleviated.
When it comes to exercise, properly individualized functional training is the most cutting edge, effective style of training to accomplish this, and there is no close second.
